MJ Finnigan have recently completed a high profile complex demolition contract on behalf of the Brymbo Heritage Group and Brymbo Developments in North Wales. The company was commissioned to carry out asbestos removal and the dismantling and demolition of the old foundry building.
The Brymbo steel works was a former large steelworks in the village of Brymbo near Wrexham, Wales. In operation between 1796 and 1990, it was significant on account of its founder, one of whose original blast furnace stacks remains on the site.
The contract was very specialist in that there was a requirement to remove the roof of the furnace building and not disturb the original wall features as built in 1796 thus there was a need for complex dismantling methodologies to be agreed in advance with the client. Full details to follow in our case studies section soon.
